FAQ

Your Questions, Answered.

How Often Should A Fire Risk Assessment Be Reviewed?

Fire safety risk assessments are a legal requirement and should be reviewed annually. In addition, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, requires a fire risk assessment to be reviewed if there are changes in the business. For example, structural alterations, change of building use and increase in occupancy. For this reason, a new fire risk assessment should be completed.

If you’re in need of an updated fire assessment or aren’t sure whether you are, get in touch. After that, one of our Fire Protection Consultants can answer all of your questions.

How Often Should A Fire Extinguisher Be Checked?

Ensure your fire extinguisher is always ready when you need it by checking it regularly. In addition, monthly in-house checks should be conducted. We ensure that it is sited correctly, still has an anti-tamper device fitted and any gauge is reading correctly, is carried out and recorded.

All extinguishers require servicing by a professional company, e.g. OHEAP Fire and Security, once per year. Each extinguishing unit is tested in line with the current British Standards (5306) and certificated. Due to rigorous testing, extinguishers will be proven as compliant. With attention to BSI certification and third-party accreditation.

Finally, BAFE engineers are aware of all of the requirements necessary to meet compliance.
